South Maldives Island Hopping & Shipwrecks - 8 Days

Day 1

Arrive at Male International Airport where you will be greeted and assisted with your transfer to the local island of Maafushi in South Male Atoll. Upon arrival at your guesthouse you will have time to settle in before exploring the island and familiarising yourself with the surroundings or taking your first dip in the hotel pool.

Day 2

Today is free for you to enjoy as you like. Relax on the bikini beach, choose to visit a resort for the day or for those feeling energetic, try out the various optional watersport activities on offer. A wide range of group day excursions including sandbank visits, snorkelling and sunset cruises can be booked at both guesthouses and the watersport providers that line the beach front on the north end of the island. Optional diving trips can be organised for certified divers. All the suggested experiences are paid locally.

Day 3

Get active with 2 hours of watersports including equipment rental for SUP, unguided kayaking or snorkelling! You can organise the time that suits you best with the reception at the guesthouse, but we definitely recommend late afternoon allowing you to enjoy the amazing sunset from the water.

Day 4

Another day on the paradise island for you to spend as you like. If you are looking for a change of scenery, take the early morning ferry to Gulhi which is a smaller and much quieter island than Maafushi but home to a lovely bikini beach.

Day 5

Following an early breakfast it's time to transfer to another local island, Fulidhoo. After checking in to your guesthouse the remainder of the day is free for relaxation along the shoreline of this chilled island.

Day 6

Ready for an amazing snorkelling excursion? Shipwreck snorkelling is a unique experience, especially if you’re not a scuba diver. The half-sunken shipwreck on the shallow reef within Vaavu Atoll is becoming a house for colourful corals and is the perfect location for taking photos that will be the envy of your friends!

Day 7

Today is free for you to enjoy as you like. Relax on the bikini beach, take a kayak or SUP out for a paddle in the famous crystal clear lagoon on the east of the island, or join a snorkelling tour to the breathtaking reef in the west. Optional diving trips can be organised for certified divers. All the suggested experiences are paid locally.

Day 8

Wake up and enjoy your last breakfast on this paradise island before catching your transfer back to Male. On arrival in Male you will be assisted with your transfer onwards to Male International Airport where your trip ends.

Lisäinfoa

The Maldives is a Muslim country and therefore care needs to be taken with regard to the dress code on the local islands. While it is acceptable for men to wear t-shirts and shorts or swim shorts, women should maintain a more conservative approach by wearing t-shirts, loose shorts or sarongs. The islands we visit are more tolerant of guests wearing traditional beachwear, however, women should avoid wearing bikinis and swimsuits on more public beaches. During the local island tours, where we may have access to mosques and family homes, shoulders and thighs should be covered out of respect for local customs.
